Captiva Island, Florida Travel Guide

South Seas Resort

The BuddyLove Babes have officially marked our second influencer trip of 2022 off the bucket list with a trip to Captiva Island, Florida! After a week of walking on sunshine at South Seas Resort, we have mutually decided this was one of our favorite influencer trips to date!

We spent the week relaxing on the beaches of Captiva thanks to our AMAZING hosts at South Seas Resort. Captiva Island is a hidden gem off the west coast of Florida lined with turquoise water, white sandy beaches, and beautiful palm trees and vegetation galore.

South Seas Resort proved to be one of the most charming destinations we have visited. This quiet, quaint little golf cart town offers 330 acres of secluded, private beach living and amazing amenities throughout. With multiple pools, ocean front restauraunts, two-and-a-half miles of pristine beaches, and endless activities for all ages, you can't go wrong booking your next beach vacation here.

We rented golf carts for the week from Sunny Island Adventures for an easier time getting around the island. South Seas does offer a trolley that runs across the island all day, but we recommend renting golf carts if you are able! You can also rent bicycles, waverunners, kayaks and more from Sunny Island Adventures.

Now, let's get down to the details from our week on Captiva with @lynleeposton, @sweetteawithmadi, @lipstickheelsandababy, @jenagreen920, @kelsiebynum, @brenna_anastasia, @ellabrooksblog, and @rachmoon!

THINGS TO DO:

As soon as our BeachBabe crew arrived, we wasted no time in throwing on our swimsuits to enjoy the first afternoon at the pool! We loaded up on poolside appetizers and frozen cocktails from the Crooked Snook Tiki Bar to kick off our week on the island.

South Seas Resort boasts three resort style pools and two water slides, (which we could have spent an entire day going down,) as well as luxurious private cabanas for staying out of the sun in style! The private cabanas come stocked with a mini fridge, snack baskets, and flat screen TV!

We spent our second day on the resort enjoying the pools and private cabanas with our amazing cabana boy, (shoutout Wyatt!,) who kept the drinks coming and the good times rolling.

South Seas Resort boasts two-and-a-half miles of private white-sand beaches complete with beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels. Captiva Island is a world famous shelling destination and it was easy to see why! Spend the day hunting beautiful sea shells, watching dolphins play along the coast, or riding jet skis across the ocean.

A three minute golf cart or trolley ride will land you on Sunset Beach, which houses the Attitudes and Latitudes Beach Bar and Food Shack. We stopped here on our third day to fill up on fresh tacos and tasty margaritas under umbrella covered tables and hammocks!

Sunset Beach lives up to it's name and serves immaculate sunsets over the ocean, live music, beach games, and equally beautiful sunrises.

We spent our third day on the island with Captiva Cruises to yet another hidden island gem! A quick 30 minute catamaran trip to North Pointe Island and we were on our own private oasis for the afternoon!

Captiva Cruises offers many different cruise experiences with options for the entire family! From dolphin cruises to sunset serenade cruises, you are guaranteed to have an exciting day with Captiva Cruises.

SOUTH SEAS DINING

Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grille

Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grille is right off South Seas Resort and is open until 10pm for good food, live music, and yummy cocktails. We experienced dinner here for our first night on the island and it did not disappoint!

Try Doc Ford's redfish bowl, fresh mahi mahi, oysters and so much more! They offer a large menu with fantastic seafood options and plenty of specialty cocktails, beer, and wine to choose from.

Harborside Bar and Grill

Harborside Bar and Grill is open for a tasty buffet style breakfast and also offers a full dinner menu. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner here while on the island. Stop by for a casual pancake breakfast, a fresh local seafood dinner, or drinks on the patio with a marina view!

Attidues and Latitudes Beach Bar and Food Shack

This is the place to be for beach side drinks and eats! With a classic Mexican menu, you can enjoy fresh tacos, quesadillas, salads and amazing margaritas from the comfort of your beach chairs!

Attitudes and Latitudes Beach Bar and Food Shack have plenty of hammocks, covered tables, and live music to enjoy while you sip and snack by the water!

Crooked Snook Tiki Bar / The Pointe

If you are looking to stay at the pool all day, you can grab lunch in your suit at The Pointe, located right offside the pool deck, or order from the Crooked Snook Tiki Bar and have your meal delivered to your beach chairs or cabanas. We opted for the latter option and enjoyed fresh poke bowls, grouper bites, hummus duo plates, and froze rosé from the comfort of our cabana!
